Miki Sakai
|
IIEEC Trainer
Soon after graduating university, I was asked to teach English to the students
of one of my neighbor’s class.
As you can imagine, I didn’t think at that time that I would become a teacher.
However, since it was my first teaching experience, I soon realized that
I needed to learn more about teaching skills. It was then I took the MAT
seminar and met Ms. Nakata for the first time. I was so impressed with
the seminar that I decided to take the MAT Certified Program and as a result
of that, I was given an opportunity to become an IIEEC Trainer.
Having been involved with the MAT METHOD, I believe that it is one of the
most practical and efficient ways of teaching teachers how to teach effectively.
I am looking forward to seeing you at the workshops. |

Although I have lived and attended local schools in the United States, from the age of 3 to 6 and also from 12 to 15 years old, teaching English was not an easy task at first. Now, with the MAT METHOD, lessons are enjoyable and exciting. I watch my students’ improvement with amazement. It is my great pleasure to be a trainer to help English teachers (they come from all over Japan!) to acquire the MAT METHOD. Please come to our Seminars and Workshops! |

After graduating from Aptos High School in California, I came back to Japan and went to Sophia University.
Now I have my own school in Asaka city, Saitama. Although each student
has a different character, different abilities and interests, they are
able to speak English the 80% of the lesson time which always amazes me.
Using the MAT METHOD, I would like to develop and expands my students'
abilities even more.
I’m happy to share the MAT METHOD with other teachers as a trainer. |

Mitsuko Kajiya |
IIEEC Trainer, Nintei Course Instructor
I was born in Hidaka, Saitama and went to the Holy Hope Lutheran High School in Hanno. After that, I attended the Lutheran High School in Los Angeles for a year as an exchange student.
After I came back from the States, I taught English at Nissait English School and then moved to Matsumoto, Nagano, where I worked at Core Junior Club for three years, teaching around 70 students. Ten years ago, I moved back to Hidaka and opened the "Let's Go Hidaka English Club." I also teach at two nursery schools. I am very happy to be on the team to help teachers learn and use the MAT Method, and to help improve English education for children in Japan. |

Kyoko Tomida |
IIEEC Trainer
I was born and grew up in a small town called Mikkabi in Shizuoka. After graduating from college in Nagoya, I started teaching English to children at Core Junior Club in Hamamatsu. This is where I first met Ms. Nakata.
After teaching at the school for 5 years, I went to America to study TESOL at the University of California, Riverside. I researched and studied many teaching methods there, but I strongly believe that the MAT Method is the most successful method I have come across.
When I came back from the U.S. with a TESOL Diploma, I established the AIEC English School in my home town. We provide fun, effective English lessons to all different age groups using the MAT Method.
I love to teach English almost as much as I love my two young children. I really am excited about sharing the MAT Method with other teachers! |

I was born and raised in Osaka. After graduating from university, I worked as a reservation clerk for Cathay Pacific Airlines, and began to visit the fascinating country of Brazil during my vacations. After I left Cathay, I decided to go to live in Brazil for a year. I learned Portuguese, and also enjoyed talking with people who use other languages. After returning to Japan, I decided to teach English to children.
I came across the MAT METHOD in 1992. I was really impressed by its effective teaching technique. Now I'm excited about sharing these ideas with IIEEC members through my career as an IIEEC trainer. |

IIEEC Trainer
I graduated from Massey University in New Zealand with a Bachelor of Arts
in Linguistics. After coming back to Japan, I taught adults, however, I
couldn’t give up my dream of teaching English to Japanese children. To
make my dream a reality, I opened up my own English school, INTERAS in
my hometown, Nagoya.
I attended the MAT Seminar, where I first met Ms. Nakata. I was very amazed
by the MAT METHOD and decided to take the IIEEC Certified Teacher Training
Course. After finishing the course, I obtained qualifications as an IIEEC
Certified Teacher and School and had training from Ms. Nakata to become
a trainer.
Since I started teaching children with the MAT METHOD, I could see that they try to talk to each other more by themselves and they seem to have a more enjoyable time learning English. I hope that more English teachers learn the MAT METHOD and share this amazing feeling. I’m looking forward to seeing you all at our workshops.
