The IIEEC English Teacher Training Center
will conclude the sale of teaching materials
at the end of March 2026,
and will bring its activities as a company
to a close at the end of April 2026.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude
to all those who have encountered, studied,
and continued to practice the MAT METHOD®.
The MAT METHOD® is an approach to English language teaching
that continues to live on in its essence,
even as times change.
However, now that its creator is no longer with us,
the MAT METHOD® is no longer something to be led
by any one individual alone.
Rather, it is a philosophy that lives on
through the practice and creativity
of each teacher who has learned it,
supporting their own lessons in their own classrooms.
It is my heartfelt hope—
shared in spirit with Ritsuko Nakata—
that the MAT METHOD® will continue to be
carefully and creatively nurtured in this way
for years to come.
Intellectual Property Statement
To ensure that the MAT METHOD® can continue to be used with confidence,
we would like to share our basic position regarding the handling of intellectual property.
Even after the closure of the company in April 2026,
all intellectual property rights related to the MAT METHOD®—
including copyrights, trademarks, teaching materials,
and the original teaching methodology—
will continue to belong to the rightful successor.
The closure of the company does not constitute
a waiver or relinquishment of these rights.
We are truly grateful for the journey we have shared with all of you,
and we wish you continued success in your teaching and practice.
